From 1980s Manchester to present day Iceland, boys are learning to navigate the uncertain waters of manhood. Gang culture, girls, father figures, friendship... It’s all in a day’s work. Despite the ocean of circumstance that separates these two narratives, growing up remains a rite of passage avoided by none and on the horizon, in the shape of dry land, looms a silhouette of shared experience.
